Getting people to care has been depressingly difficult. Most people just aren't interested in learning. A lot of people are indifferent at best or even hostile about it.
Uneven knowledge background. In the same room you can find people who read “Caste” and then there’s people who were taught colorblindness in the 90s and nothing else. How do you reach both of them at the same time with no budget?

Personally I think it's a prioritization issue but what do I know?
Getting people to understand why DEI is important!! Many people think that DEI is just about being politically correct or that it's not relevant to their job. It's important to help people understand that DEI is not just about checking a box or avoiding lawsuits. It's about creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace where everyone feels like they belong and have an opportunity to succeed.

If you can incentivize the training in some way, that will help a lot. No one does anything at work just bc they care so much; we work bc we have to and expect to be paid. The same is true for at work training. Hopefully the subject matter is interesting and engaging, but never expect that why people take the trainings.
