What are the chances a company will verify my counter offer after I have accepted their offer and asked for a raise after getting a counter offer?
Has anyone got away with a fake offer letter and asking for a raise in compensation?

I’m highly disappointed about the fact that whenever I talk to the HR teams or recruiters about joining bonus, they state there’s no provision. However, my male colleagues or ex co-workers who interviewed for the same position where offered a joining bonus. This has happened to me twice now and I’m starting to believe something is wrong in the system or there is some kind of biased against women at certain workplace.

Considering taking a position with a small-cap in the US trying to build their legal department. The title is standard “counsel” although the work would be with the senior leadership team and reporting to the GC in Europe. How reasonable is it to ask for a bump in title - Senior counsel or Head of Legal, US?
