What are the key quals/skills a manager needs to be promoted to a director? Currently in an internal corp strategy role if that makes any difference. TIA!

I started out as a graphic designer. Worked for about 4yrs in different roles. Then i started a digital design role for 2 yrs and then made my transition into ux. i have been in a ux role for 5 years. But i want to steer my career towards something more creative. Like in 5-10 years I wouldn’t want to be a specialist or a ux director. I d like to be an art director or creative director. I love branding & marketing but also product. Would love something that allows me to do both?

I get tax brackets but in the UK making 30K you pay ~£6K tax and when you make around 5x more at £150k you pay 10x more tax ~£60k. What things can you do to lower your tax in consulting? (I’m not at 150 yet but most of us will get there hopefully if we stay in this role)

I am in a period of growth in my role (in house and getting more exposure to top management) - im grateful for it but I also have constant anxiety during and after work hours. Does anyone who’s been in a similar position have tips for riding this wave? Hoping it’ll get easier.

If 2+ people submit a referral on your behalf at their company for a position you recently applied for, does it make you stand out even more/increase your chances of getting an interview vs. just 1?

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? I love working in healthcare, there’s nothing like it.

What kind of role does a Deputy Manager in the risk consulting service line perform. I am currently a senior consultant at EY India is it a similar kind of role?

I am having skills of Analytics but not getting job I know Excel and other tools also Power Bi, Google sheets, Google Data Studio, Python, My Sql in learning.

Any advice for asking for almost a 30-35% raise. I recently got an Office Manager position and I wanted to renegotiate my pay. It's a brand new location with branches nationwide. So for a few months I had to do everything myself since I was the only one in the office at this location. I did extremely well and everyone's told me I've been doing a great job. The company has been telling me I'm going to change and get different responsibilities over time.

If you interview for a job but are not offered the position, is it weird to try to connect with some of your interviewers on LinkedIn? I genuinely liked some of my interviewers, but apparently the company identified a candidate whom it believes is a better fit.

I have a SQL assessment to complete with Home Depot for a Senior Analyst position for Inventory Solutions department and a little nervous for it as I have not touched SQL in over a year and a half since my previous role. How do I go about managing someone that’s hyper-focused on being promoted? Literally every 1:1 and every time I talk to them it’s “am I doing everything I can to make manager?”
For context, they were hired 12 months ago, gave them a promotion 6 months later because of staffing and they were performing well. Now it’s in their head that they get promoted every 6 months.
