What are the little things your first years do that are harmless but you drive you nuts? Mine is my first year saves down the spreadsheets extremely zoomed out, so anytime I open his/her work to review, I have to zoom in on every worksheet tab.

Thanks for the tip. Going to use this one on my seniors

I don't tend to complain about that, because I find that everyone does that in some shape or form. It just depends on people's vision, and whether or not they are using monitors while they are working.

Do they know of the recurring option? May be they are just clueless?

They completely change the naming convention on files, mostly the version detail. Like for example, changing how the date is formatted or leaving their initials in a different way, etc.

Have you let them know that this bothers you? Maybe start with that before putting your associate on blast....

I am actually the opposite. I like my stuff super zoomed out but my associate has poor vision so it’s super zoomed in and it annoys me. Obviously not his fault. Also naming conventions. Like if the description is too vague I don’t like it.

I’ve noticed a lot of my staff doing that where they zoom out on spreadsheets. I think someone must have told them to do it at their training to check for review notes.

What’s your guys age and experience? At what point would you say you felt like your work was better than your peers or newer incoming associates?

As things start to open up fully, some of my institutional clients are sending notices that we are expected to do X activity over zoom from here on out (things we used to do in person). Hi! Can someone recommend a source for learning how do simple, fun music lessons on Zoom? I teach first grade and use music for my transitions. I would also like to play songs for them with my guitar, but am concerned it won’t sound good on zoom (the guitar, not my voice, which is bad, we established that long ago)

So...
What to do? What to do?

Came back to school in August with a cruise ship still sitting on my stage. We walked away from Anything Goes the day after the sitzprobe because of the quarantine. Still taking the wind out of my sails.

We are here now, but not able to stage shows. Logic says, "Do a radio show!" Just not sure I want to subject the kids to the emptiness of that performance style given the Zoom life they've been living. The production of it could be fun though.

Thoughts?

Our district voted on returning back to school with students in the classroom and some staying at home. We now have to teach students in the room and on Zoom at the same time. I’m not complaining but does anyone have any tips on the best and most effective way to get this done?

Researching the job mkt & pay for nursing: It is so easy to set up a first interview esp. as a nurse. Set up a zoom meeting, in the zoom meeting ask abt job details and ask for the salary range. They will give it to you, and in my case it was the same range for both of the companies. (Hospice oncall nurse here👋). Then you fit in somewhere on that continuum based on education & experience—that where the negotiation comes in—they will make a case to place you as low as possible on the scale.

I think I may have made a huge mistake today. My skip level director sent out an email about something and asked us for feedback. I sent back a note and provided some. One of the things I said was that our job satisfaction might be improved if we could do more of X kind of work instead of Y kind of work that we do so much of in our group.
