Never date sisters. Bad idea, man.
You get one “informational” discussion before you have to report it to your HR; otherwise it’s seen as poaching.
The sister agency will guide you through the process so that it won’t be seen as poaching. Usually you declare your interest to sister agency. If they want you, you get as close to getting an offer as you can (and get a verbal on salary). Then they’ll ask you to out yourself to Ketchum. Sister agency then says “it wasn’t us - she came to us. But let’s keep her in the family.” Then you get offer and leave.
I can only speak about how my experience went, but here it is:
Saw a posting on LinkedIn from sister agency, asked around to find a director on the account (NOT THE RECRUITER). We set up a call, discussed it, and both wanted to proceed. They told me to reach out to my HR people and express my interest while they would do the same on their end. From there, my senior leadership was informed but my supervisor/manager wasn’t clued in until the formal interview.
OMD countered and slotted me into a new role to stay put, and all is well.
Nahhhh. It might be a sister company, but they still have separate budgets and accounts. You’ll be fine, unless your contract says can not do so at all
...is there something so tempting at Access or H&S that you can’t get it at Ketchum? You’re probably aware of this, but now that we are all together in NYC it could make things weird if you leave on bad terms
