Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

How is thoughtworks hikes, wlb, does it provide any benefits apart from fixed pay? My district lets you use your sick days to take up to 10 weeks paid. I think I’m definitely one of the luckier ones in this thread but it does really bother me that I’ll completely wipe out my banked sick days. There have been so many days where I probably shouldn’t have gone in but I don’t want to waste a precious potential paid maternity leave day.
Wow!! 10 weeks sounds so great. But definitely a bummer that you have to use your sick days…
My district has the same leave, although I don't think that they let people have an extra 2 weeks for a c-section, so it's really nice that yours does that. I still wish there was longer leaves though, I always read about other countries having like 6 month leaves and it sounds like such a dream.
You can pretend that you live in one of those countries and bank a large percentage of your pay, which they pay in taxes, and put that money in a high yield savings account. Then you will have the money to stay home that long. Time your conception so that you deliver right before summer and voila you have paid maternity leave without using your sick days, plus if you have the disability insurance, you can collect that money in addition to your summer pay.
We get 4 weeks paid maternity leave and 2 weeks paternity leave or if you're adopting. Clearly getting the short end of the stick.
Ohhh! I’m so sorry! I can’t imagine going back after only 4 weeks. That’s when you time it to have your baby in April or May!
Our union is fighting for 12 weeks for parental leave, regardless of whether one is the birth parent. Equal leave for any new parent… whether one gives birth, adopts, goes through a surrogate, is the mom or dad- 12 weeks to bond with their new child. Not paid of course- but able to use accumulated sick time if you have it… they are fighting against it hard. Contentious negotiations this contract cycle!
That sounds wonderful!! Sending good vibes your way so that it can go into effect!! I think that is such a great view: every parent deserves time to be with their new child.
Ours is whatever days you have banked up.
I am in a right to work state and we do not have official maternity leave. You can take 6 weeks off but if you only have a week of leave, the other 5 are unpaid.
Everyone should be covered under the Federal Family Leave Act which allows you take 12 weeks of leave to care for yourself or a loved one with an illness. However pay is not guaranteed and you need to use your accrued sick leave.
