Downgrade so you don’t lose your points or hurt your credit

I was lucky and I don’t get the increased renewal until next Feb but I think they are reversing the extra $100 this year. this year they gave $60 in DoorDash credits and the dash pass so assuming you already used the $300 credit you are only spending $90 this year. For me it’s worth it still worth given the 3 points for dining
I am leaving it open. I am still getting a bunch of points from grocery shopping (extra points), ordering food occasionally. I already used my travel credit for the year. So it’s not like I am not getting value this year.
If we are still not traveling by winter at all, I would reassess.
Planing on canceling/downgrading my Amex Bonvoy Card. I was on the fence already with having it before all this started

I got rid of my Amex Bonvoy account but I also already had the Chase one that renewed before March.

Wowzers, this thread definitely shows that, even among educated folks, consumers make poor decisions.

I'm thinking about ditching my Amex Platinum but closing credit cards hurts your score. And there's a small hassle in downgrading it and then upgrading it again (will it be approved?). I might just eat the fee
The temporary credits ($20/month on streaming, $20/month on phone bill, $200 amextravel credit) are pretty good for Amex Plat. I’m keeping mine.
