Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?
Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?

I know in general this is just super rare (but I think can be done if you have deep niche content knowledge in a space of investment - eg have a phd for life sciences investing) - the reason why is because there is so much in the investment process that is more PMO/process-ey that you just need to pick up as an asc and is important to know if you’re quarterbacking a deal. I don’t know if this is helpful- I guess the firms that would do it are ones with a very specific sector of focus
I think comp is going to be the same (or very very similar) for VPs that were asc and ones that weren’t. Check out heidrick & struggles they have a good PE comp report every year
FWIW - Using Bain cap as a reference because I have seen that before. But relevant for any UMM/MF or strong MM player.
I know at Blackstone MBAs start as senior associates which is the title of someone with 4 YOE out of college who joined as an analyst
