What do PE shops start VP’s at post MBA? Is the VP role the same as someone who maybe went straight through? For example.. if I’m a consultant with no investing experience and I land a summer VP and full time ultimately at Bain Cap... am I viewed the same as the kid who did 2-3 associate years first and is coming back?

On the spectrum of functional (1) to technical (10), where would you put Product Manager and/or Owner?
Is it similar to old school functional BA role (back in the SDLC days before agile took hold)?
...or does this vary heavily by company?

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before?
