Depends on how competent this coworker is otherwise. I’d rather wait 10 min on someone competent then have 30 min with someone incompetent
It's so hard to not address things like this, and I feel like you totally should. It's worth having a casual chat at first just to see if you can get her to work on it. If it doesn’t change, maybe it’s time to bring it up with the supervisor. We all want to support each other, but it’s gotta be fair!
I would prefer to talk to that nurse directly in an open area with other people around. Open up with light conversation and then get straight to the point. Keep it professional and calm. Make my point and only allow outcomes to prevent this from happening to be discussed. Not how or why it happens now. If that doesn't work, go up the chain of command. That's not the position to hold if you can't Complete simple tasks.
We have an employee like this and it drives me INSANE. She is supposed to be there at 4 and shows up 30-45 minutes late every single day and then leaves early two days a week. There is no use complaining about it though because nothing gets done.
