Hi Fishes, I am considering a Senior Engineer role with Alteryx (previously Hyper Anna) Sydney. If it's not too much trouble, I was hoping if anyone here could share their experience of working at Alteryx Sydney in terms of Culture, work life balance, politics, work pressure, people, Leadership and product. Thanks.

Confirmed: OP doesn't shower while on bench 💀
Showering in their tears
I wish. Bench life is legitimately worse than chargeable, Bc at least chargeable you get credit for. Cranking on proposals is an entirely thankless job
It’s even worse when you don’t win because the firm expects the consultant to deliver the orals.
It's half spent spending time with my children and doing online training. I know I'll be working 60 to 80 hours a week soon, so the time with my family is important to me.
I don't know how soon I my neck of the woods.
I remember going a month on the bench doing absolutely nothing back in my senior consultant days. Oh what a wonderful waste of time that was.
Absolutely. Take the opportunities to step back and unplug. You know that difficult project start is just around the corner.
1045am - Wake up
1100am - Breakfast + Morning tequila shot
1230pm - Shower (maybe)
2pm - Workout [swole is the goal]
4pm - Lunch/Dinner
6pm - Dry Fire/Range Time
8pm - Shower (definitely)
8pm-2am - Anything hedonistic
2am - Remember I'm only in the bench because I lined up my next role a full month after my roll off date
Similar enough, but swap out job hunting for internal project support and planning how to move to contracting.
Edibles intake def on the rise here
Yoooo me too. Like honestly routine has been to take an edible around 7PM every night and play videogames until around 11:30
jesus, my thoughts are with you. that sounds rough.
Hard to wake up sometimes
Jealous, have been over 100% utilized since January without a break (worked thru firmwide shutdown). No raise or bonuses this year means all efforts were for nothing
@OP, in all seriousness if you are looking for billable work please DM me. Let’s talk, I can hook you up.
Wake up at 8. Have breakfast and Tea
Log in 9:30 Follow up and beg for projects
10:30 Read news and apply for jobs
11:30 to 2 start training on Udemy on cloud technologies and plan for certification
2 lunch and nap
4-6 Firm initiative work
6-7 walk/jog
7-9 Family time
9 Dinner
10-12 Netflix and watching you tube videos
12-1 Wondering what would happen if I get laid off.
Yeah, that’s mostly me on the beach
Lmao honestly I wouldn’t mind being trading places
Pre-covid i would tale older people in my life out to long lunches and deep clean my apartment.
A bench? What’s that? 🤣
🤨
I was on the bench until recently, this was my schedule
Wake Up at 8 am and have breakfast with gf
9 am, drop off gf at her job
9:30-4, 36 holes at the local course
4-6, nap
6-10, cook a nice meal and Netflix
I miss the course, haven’t held a club in weeks
I mean this seriously, enjoy your naps!!!! My current augie project is 25 hours a week. Really they need someone 40 hours, but they’re not willing to pay for it. It’s a chaotic situation wherein I’m at their whim for meetings, so it’s like I’m on call for 40 hours. Boundary setting is next to impossible so today I took a little nap from 1-2 between meetings. And I really enjoyed that nap!!!
Rising Star
I would say the same except for the part of looking for jobs... I do that outside of work hours
You are at EY. You probably have no excuse for not having at least a few Bronze Badges by now, if not a Silver. Seriously. It's a golden opportunity for you to increase your skill set and find additional roles.
So jealous rn
lol me too but I’m on client so I’m working on training instead of searchjng a new job
