Hello!
I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.

Is the work culture at Salesforce banglore good even for contract workers. How is the pressure and risk? are contract employees treated well too?

When is it best to leave consulting? Here's how I think about it.
First, are you enjoying it? If so, why leave (it can be a great life long career)?
Second, are you still learning fast? If not, you're missing out.
Last, what skills do most employers value? In my experience, this dictates 2 optimal jumping off points:
(a) 2-3 years in. Consulting "tool kit" is solid
(b) ~1-2 year into Manager. Employers value experience managing people.

Corp strat usually isn’t a long term career. Most people rotate trough as part of their grooming for general management roles.
Some people specialize in M&A, integration, or transformation, but they often bring those skills in from previous experience.
Corp strat can be a good entry point for a consultant, but you’ll want to make sure moving to a role in general management, commercial, or operations is possible.
Unless you get to work like someone who runs a business unit, strat is a dead end. Mixing it with Corp rev or strategic pmo can get more say into how the company operates, but not ceo
D1 is right. A two year stop in corp strat is a good way to transition from consulting and be fast tracked into desirable positions in a business unit
Is it a necessary step from consulting? Or could I be in operational consulting and move straight into a role in general management? My understanding is that you really have to be in strategy consulting to land these corp strat roles, but if the ultimate goal is to move to a general management role, what’s the point of a) strat consulting and b) corp strat? Is the experience that useful later on so much so that it’s worth the hours one puts in doing strategy consulting?
Generally exit opps, pay, exposure to CEO level issues are why people go into it. Also since MBB does strategy the field is considered sexy.
If you focus on ops consulting there is no guarantee that you are groomed for ceo roles. However if you leave ops consulting and get groomed by a director of BU or something then your chances of making it big are high
