Someone buys the city/town tax lien (?) and then all of a sudden a third party has an interest in the house
Or the city/town forces the sale of the house so the tax bill can be paid
I don’t depend on city, local, state, national government to ensure I keep my assets.
People, please pay your taxes. Otherwise, sell the asset. & also pay the taxes on the sale, if required by law.
You lose the house. Someone will buy it at auction and you’ll no longer be the owner.
Tbf it’s only been 1 full quarter that is late.

Eventually the county will foreclose and sell the house at auction. Until then, you are “just” accruing interest and penalties that will be withheld from any sale or refinance. If there is a mortgage, the mortgage company could pay the past due balance, charge you fees and force you to establish an escrow account.
This is the most accurate response
Municipality will put a tax lien on. If not paid within a period of time after that, the municipality may foreclose.
Doesn't matter what you feel. 1 quarter is more than enough to put a lien on.
