What’s better the S&P or a total stock market index fund?

In the long run, probably doesn’t matter too much. I believe there is a ton of overlap between the S&P 500 and VTSAX, for example. Theoretically I guess you could say you’re more diversified with a total stock index since the S&P is market cap weighted to the top 500 stocks, which is why it’s been so tech heavy over the past few years. Long story long just pick the one with the lowest expense ratio and you’re good 👍

A triple leveraged S&P fund

Lol. Over 10 years will definitely take you to $0

like

Total market is better. Higher diversification is better. Over a 20 year period, you'll see lower volatility. In fact best to diversify across international markets as well.
VTI (55%) and VXUS (45%). Provides the lowest volatility

VT. Definitely not VOO.
But with VT you don't get the foreign tax credit, which matters for large investment amounts

Best place to get pre-qualified for a mortgage?

I have some collections on my credit report. One from an electric company for $800 (imo they violated terms of contract and sent me to collections in spite of their fuck up), and an apartment for $80~ that charged me a cleaning fee when my apartment was spotless.

Despite these two collections have a 712-720 credit score.

So mortgage lenders care at all about the collections or is it mostly the credit score that matters?
