Oh, I would say jumping from different companies and getting promoted that way was what worked best for me. Not sure if that is still the best option, but it was in my day.
For sure switching companies. You pretty much always get more that way than by sticking around hoping to get promoted. Picking up OT shifts helped a lot too when I was hourly. Love that time and a half pay.
Switching companies for sure
I agree with this. I have stayed at companies for years and only gotten a standard 3% raise each year. The only way to get a meaningful raise is usually to switch companies.
Just moving companies! Last job I stayed in for 2 years only, before moving on.
