As a Senior 2 I transferred from Big4 to RSM in a mid-COL city and got $100K salary plus $5K signing bonus. Indirect Tax.
I think you should ask for at least $90K.
Ask for $85k. May have to negotiate down to $80k. What’s your current salary now?
Currently at a midsize Public Accounting Firm.
~80k
My guess would be 3-5k for the bonus. I think 80 might be a little high for salary but depends on COL.
Can Anyone else chime in on the salary request?
Yeah, more
So asking for $85K and possibly getting a $5K sign on bonus reasonable?
FYI, I'm in a low COL but on a consultant pay scale (higher than regular tax/audit) and a senior 2. And I make less than 85k.
Salary now I feel is extremely low $67K
85 seems high...but if you ask 85 and settle on 78-80 I think that’d be good and fair
Are you in a specialty group? If so $85k+ is reasonable. If not, you may have to settle for $80k or slightly less.
Back in my day I was at $70k as first year senior (2012). Federal tax group (non speciality)
I got 92k when I left as a Senior 1. High COL area. Did not negotiate just what I was offered. Idk what COL Fort Lauderdale is, but I think 85k should def be reasonable
Op which group are you in? Also, are you looking for these jobs vs they reached out to you? What is your background? CPA/Lawyer? PWC would be in a good position to pay you higher than rest. I would say ask for 85 to 90 and 10K sign on bonus. It all depends on how well you are at selling yourself. Good luck Op
According to Robert half - Fort Lauderdale - SA 78k-92k
What is COL in Ft L? I’m in low COL and make 66k
It’s South Florida COL is higher compared to similar cities. Miami COL is High and we operate as one.
Miami is not a high COL city. Yes, it’s more expensive than other cities in the SE, but it’s not a high COL city.
The range TA 1 gave sounds about right for seniors in general. I think 90 would be pretty high for a first year unless it is a specialty group. Remember to consider the hours worked in each office when making decisions. For example, my firm tends to be in the lower end to middle of the compensation range but it is extremely rare for anyone work more than a 55 hour week
