Italy's problem is they are locked to the national contracts so there's the minimum they pay, which I assume you might fall in metalmeccanico and then they can top up your salary to a level, but bonus is contained and variable and the variation is a shame. Absolutely push for more, and fight your corner, don't be surprised if they just get upset and demand this is the way. I find it very difficult to negotiate anything in corporate Italy.
Thank you! Yeah, I don’t think I will be able yo live here long term, but will probably need to give it a shot now.
Hold on, you made manager your first year out of new hire?
I have 5YOE not freshly graduated. Will be last year manager
What is the current offer/band?
COL in South of Italy is definitely lower, but good luck finding a well paying job down there.
Why go from JPM to KPMG? It is like F1 to F3
KPMG in Milan office: very low pay, long hours, office culture sucks. But I guess if you have to, you have to.
Get me in JPM I’ll pay the deficiency in salary
I’ll move to hell for JPM bro, from strategy and deals background, I ain’t kidding you get yo self one sweet pie treat 🥧 if true
If you’re looking for a job in strategy consulting in Italy (Milan) text me!
are you also looking for people that don’t have experience in strategy?
OP have you tried to relocate in any PE or IB positions in Italy? Even MBB is a good shoot but don’t go for a Big4 (the worst kind in Italy based on different reasons already mentioned) after being in JPM.
You have leverage for great exit opportunities but think about the cost of life which is lower in Milan compared to London.
