100% commission
The absolute accuracy of every word. Whew.
The draw system. You get a “base pay” but that base pay comes out of your commission, and if you don’t make enough to cover base then they take your base pay out of your future commission. You can literally be in debt to the company if you don’t perform. Worse than 100% commission
My mother had a job like this and the owners wouldn’t pay until delivery of furniture but they would also refuse to order from the supplier until they had sold enough. So by the time she got commission it would be eaten up by draw checks. They also later found out that they were holding furniture in the warehouse and not delivering it so that they didn’t have to pay salespeople timely commission. They also used to take ALL of someone’s down payment money if they were a day late on a payment. One woman had 12k down and she ended up in the hospital. She forgot and missed a payment and when she came to talk to them the next week they said they didn’t care and they kept her money. Very sick mental individuals.
2 month rolling average. If you sold 2k in month 1 and 12 k in month 2, you’d be paid out at 7k in month 2
The one I’m currently working with!! It’s so damn confusing. It’s constantly changing with little to no notice. Our biggest sellers suddenly become a NC (non commissioned) item. I have a decent base salary so if I do get any commission I’m like YAY! Honestly so frustrating…
Lawyer up..
Winning managed service contracts that are in the 5 to 6-figure range but only paid as little as $200 since the managed service provider might lose the contract after a few weeks or months, through no fault of the sales professionals.
20% increase every year with no increase in payout target, regardless of economic situation.
Ours was a 45% increase in revenue this year with just a minor bump on our quarterly payouts and no base salary increase. 🥴 On a sidenote... Anyone hiring?
