Within my first year of Consulting, really struggling with the hours amongst other things. Spoken to a couple of people internally and the advice is to get on to projects with bigger budgets and therefore bigger teams/more support. Folks making more than £100K: How do you deal with the 60% effective tax rate on the 100-125K bracket? (HMRC gradually reduces your £12,750 personal tax-free allowance to £0.)

What boutique consultancies/ T2 / others pay more than MBB?

Due to a mix of circumstance, hikes / job moves, i’ve 2x my salary over the last year.
However, regardless of much i earn, it feels as if i will never feel rich or save enough in a place like London. Crazy constantly increasing taxes, sky rocketing rents and early saturation in salaries. Is UK the right place to be or is it the same everywhere.

Would you take a £10k pay rise to move to industry in a global role if it meant no promotion prospects and working with no team mates?
