All of the online “registries” and “certifications” are scams as there is no legal requirement for them. Which is where 99% of those red vests with white letters and driver’s license looking IDs come from.
HOWEVER, a service dog must be able to perform a certain task for a certain disability. Service dogs have public access rights. An emotional support animal is not tasked trained and is “prescribed” via a letter from your doctor. ESAs are allowed on planes but have no other access rights.
Whatever you do, please do not abuse the system just to bring your pet on. As someone in the dog world outside of work, I cringe at the number of fake service dogs and made up ESAs in airports. It is so, so obvious to those of us who know what to look for.
If you’d like to bring your pet dog onboard, they must fit in a carrier underneath the seat and a pet fee applies.
It’s such a shame the scams are becoming commonplace. I know someone with a legit trained service animal and they got one of those fake cards just because people are unfamiliar with the laws and kept asking for it.

There is no requirement for a service vest.
Yeah, so when you click the "service and emotional support animal" link on that page, it clearly details the process. The animal must meet certain requirements and you submit 3 forms at least 48 hours before the flight.
The first step is for the dog 🐕 to admit to having a problem! Does your dog drink every day and night? Maybe an intervention is in order .... gather the neighborhood dogs that care
see the special assistance pets page for AA. some dogs can travel as carry-on, others must be checked or cargo, depending on size, breed, and the location your are traveling to. you have to pay a pet charge regardless. if you have a service animal, they have different requirements. your animal does NOT NEED to be a service animal for you to fly with it.
