What is the role hierarchy at McKinsey? Trying to figure out where I would fit as an experienced consultant and can’t find anything in search. Are associate roles what I should be looking at?

Ngl, if we had a rank called Grand Warlock I’d be so motivated to work extra hard for that promotion

Associate is the Post MBA role. Tough to come in as anything higher as an experienced hire.

like

The issue with joining as a Partner — your core clients may not be willing to pay McKinsey rates. You end up losing your book of business.

like

Business Analyst and Associate are the two traditional entry level roles. If you have experience and/or advanced degrees you’d likely come in as an associate

like

There are also expert and senior expert roles that lateral hires come in. Expert is the EM equivalent and the senior expert is the AP equivalent.

From my experience, the senior experts struggle to survive beyond an year.

like

Why do you say senior experts struggle to survive beyond a year?

What is your experience and YOE ? Do you have MBA ?

What’s your experience in ? Based on what you are saying, would likely consider you as a BA level. In some geographies, there are JA and Fellows that would be a better fit (not in US)

Would appreciate any thoughts, insight, personal experience, referral., etc.!

Hi everybody! 😊
I've been working as a Junior Analog Design Engineer for a year and half.
I received a proposal for a Senior Analog Designer role from Bosch in the same city where I am currently working.
Should I wait and build up a few more years of experience before accepting a Senior role or should I jump in and work to fill the gap?
Next year, there will be an important deadline for the project I'm working on and my resignation could be critical for the team, how would you deal with it?

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?

Just graduated with Aerospace Engineering degree. I am interviewing for multiple positions at once with different companies. One gave me an offer and they want me to get back to them within 2 days. I still have other interviews scheduled and some for higher paying jobs (around 90k) What should I do?
I do like the company that gave me an offer but their base pay was 80k and they went up to 85k. Is asking for them to match the 90k too much? The position is associate systems engineer.
