What should a Marketing Manager 8+ years be getting paid annually? What's a good ball park range? - I know there are a lot of variables but just in your own company what's a fair ask.

I'm not quite to that level of experience yet, but from job postings I've been seeing, it seems like you'd be looking at anywhere between $90K and $130K, depending on the industry and location. If you are handling a lot of strategy and leadership, you could definitely push higher. It really does vary, but that is what I'm seeing

like

Coming from a healthcare perspective, $110-130k for manufacture, $85-110k for distributor.

What city?

The national median sits at about 130K (Sr Manager, add 30K). That's regardless of FTE size, industry and Geo.

Ha. I was told in my company, to earn $75k+ you had to be there for 15 years. Previous owner lived by the "cheapest option possible" mantra.

Best bet is to look it up on salary info sites and check the estimates on job listings here.

I've seen positions listed as low as $60k up to $150k.

My first marketing manager role I was low balled at $95k in sf and at my next role I was offered $160k.

Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

Currently I work for a small company that does the construction of small cell utility poles and roof top sites for the major cell carriers like VZW, T-mobile, AT&T and so on. I am a project coordinator but I do everything under the sun. Created project tracker. Submitti bids, sourcing material, negotiating price on materials, handling post construction inspections, scheduling sub contractors, notifying stakeholders, coordinating with construction managers - property owners - building management.

Interviewing at a dream company, and right from the first interview the recruiter told me we are way off on salary expectations. This was a little bit expected, as the role is requiring a few years less experience than I have and also in a much cheaper market. They already told me the salary range during this first call, but wondering if they like me enough and I get an offer, how I might approach negotiating for more. I would be making much less than I do now, but it is a dream company.

Hey fishes, recently got an offer of 245k plus a bonus, but no specificity and at least 3% cost of living annual raise. My current job I make 150k plus a 20% bonus and an annual cost of living raise anywhere from 2-3.5%. Have been in my current position about a year. Things have been a bit bumpy (not a me issue) I have a new supervisor and was recently given 7 direct reports (I had zero before). The new position while comes with a significant raise is a move to California. Any thoughts?

I’ve been verbally offered a position at a new company, but the recruiter insists on getting a verbal acceptance before sending the offer in writing. This person insists on negotiating salary before sending the paperwork. Generic benefits, RSUs, bonus info have been provided; it’s all unofficial.

This is absurd. Am I missing some “new way” of doing things? Your take?
