What is a good interview answer for leaving a job after a few months when the real reason is that you’re sleeping with one eye open in hopes of not being on the chopping block after two rounds of massive layoffs? Company culture is at an all-time low, and it will only go down from here from what I’ve seen in the short months I’ve been there.
Hello! Due to recent leadership changes, signs are pointing to a layoff for my team & me around Christmas/the new year. If you know of any companies looking for folks with HR, Talent strategy, program management, or I/O psychology backgrounds, please comment or DM me. Remote roles for professionals with 8+ years of experience are ideal. Many thanks in advance 🙂
Anybody else get laid off today?
In need of some leads. Company I'm working for has announced sudden layoffs across teams (second time in the year).

Do you get unemployment checks if you get fired?
Interested to know others’ thoughts: would you consider the actuarial profession to be recession proof? Do you think there are some tracks that are more protected than others? From where I sit, it’s hard to imagine a layoff of actuaries in my group (health consulting); we have more work than we can handle and are still actively recruiting.
These are the threads we should frame and hang in all agency lobbies instead!

Someone having ratings above 4 in all the 4 snapshots, utilisation around 90%. Currently working in a project, how much can I be sure of my job security?
Heard from some people here that PwC is doing mass layoffs.
Hey everyone, I was recently laid off.. on November 3 actually. It’s a “temporary layoff” and I’m one of the 4 who got laid off. My return date is February 1st. Would you wait, and collect employment insurance (Canada) or start looking for a new job??
I'm scared of leaving consulting because I have commitment issues, I like not staying on the same team for more than six months , I like being able to quit projects with shitty bosses. In the industry, you spend an entire year with one team and that seems scary. Also there is no system of bench if you get fired.
I absolutely hate my job and would like to resign ASAP but my bond period is until Feb 2023 but they are already having a qualifying exam which I won't clear and will get fired anyways in Jan 2023...but they are refusing to let me go without paying bond money.. What will happen if I just get myself fired😑
I have a concern about an ex co worker whom was fired at the beginning of the week for poor attendance. Before being fired she was harassing me constantly sending me paragraphs of why she was mad at me and then would come in hug me and kiss my cheeks and apologize & then do it again. This happened a handful of times. She has come into work everyday since being fired just walking around. She has been texting my friends making up stories about me. Is there anything I can do? I thought it was over.
I have joined CGI 5 months back and my project is going to end on 31st. So what will happen after that? As there are layoffs going on in the market will it affect? I am from mainframes technology and have only 2yrs of exp. Can anyone explain pls? CGI

I’m in mid-size firm working for a partner. That partner (“P1”) is around 65 y-o, and tells me they’ll retire soon and have me replace them. I was promised a large raise by President (“P2”) by the end of this year, and when I didn’t get it, I started asking and P1 told me that P2 didn’t even remember the promise. So now I’m thinking whether I can trust P1’s promise to make me a partner soon too. If I become a partner, it’s worth sticking around. But what if this promise is also empty?
Currently in school and just got the GSAP return offer today:

I got approved for the SaT FDD rotation this summer, but tbh idk if I can make it until then. Audit is terrible right. But I think I might burn some bridges if I left. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Should I wait it out and do the rotation or just apply somewhere else.
Wait. Is minimum tip for dining in 22.5% now? The waiter handed me the handheld credit card terminal and the only 3 options are 22.5%, 25%, 30%. How much do you all tip?

Hi. I’m going to this training and if anyone else in advertising or design industry wants to attend we could have our own break out group there and meet.

i don't know how realistic this is but i hear a lot about agencies double billing for creatives who have extra skills doing things like translating copy, taking really quality agency headshots, or even voice acting/acting in spots... but the actual person doing the extra work doesn't see a dime. easy way to save a lot of money and take advantage of how multidisciplinary people have to be to stand out in such a competitive environment.
I'd like to see people get paid at least a little bit of money extra for doing that sort of thing.
This has happened to me multiple times for voice acting. I can’t imagine how to get paid for this if you’re salary (as I was) or if the client doesn’t know it’s being done internally.
A pension and lifelong insurance coverage.
Sane hours could come via a WFH day each week, official turn-off hours, or overtime.
Severance negotiation would be a huge one. Transparency in promotions and raises, with clear org charts and salary bands we all agree to would be another.
I'd also like to fundamentally change the way we pitch and freelance but those would be later goals once we have an organization that actually wields some power.
