PwC A recruiter from PWC reached out to me to ask if I’d consider a different office the one I applied to, since it’s full. It would be Boston, Hartford, Chicago, Minneapolis, Little Rock, Denver, San Francisco or San Jose. MSA candidate. Is there a fully remote option? Do you have to be in the office all the time? Is the compensation high at PWC? Is there a possible moving expenses? Any insight or advice would help me make a decision. Thank you!

Not a single thing. Having a good quality of life is something that I learned over the pandemic and it’s something that I wouldn’t sacrifice not even for more money because at the end of the day, my work stress levels shouldn’t overcompensate how much I’m earning and my quality of work life. I was in that mental state before and I don’t want to ever be in that mental state ever again.

Great response and TBH, I’ve come to agree with you. There’s a level of working from home that has helped me mental health wise that I’m not willing just to turn over. Not for anything.
I can't imagine what would make me want to be in office all the time. I will say, I think I learned a lot from working in the office, so I recognize that it can be important, especially when you're first starting out. But at this point I don't think it's really necessary. And I've gotten so into my comfort zone of concentration working remotely that I'd rather not have to deal with office distractions.

Ok let me ask a follow up here. What’s something you can learn in the office that you can’t learn while working from home? Anything that comes to mind?
i agree - i don't think any job or amount of money would get me to go back to the office fulltime again. we just started to do 2 days a week but my team is dispersed so it makes no sense to come in. literally coming in to badge swipe and take video calls. i'm hoping to get promoted soon and plan to switch to a fully remote role again since most of my team is already fully remote.

That’s interesting, the entire team isn’t allowed to work remote? That’s a bit odd and inefficient in my opinion. I can see that creating animosity within the team.
I’m lucky to have worked hybrid jobs most of my career. I have admittedly worked in sectors where urgency was more important than physical presence in an office, though. The downside of being expected to stay in one place, wherever you find yourself, to deal with an urgent issue as it unfolds is, unfortunately, being connected and available 24/7. Some days I dream of being in an office 9-5 and being able to shut down at the end of the day, which I know is also an unrealistic dream.
