What would make me quit my job in 2026?
Easy. Burnout dressed up as “just one more thing,” a company that preaches values it doesn’t practice, and a system that rewards overwork while slowly draining the people holding it together.
I’m quitting because I’m tired of being good at a job that keeps moving the goalposts, tired of corporate buzzwords used to excuse understaffing and unrealistic expectations, and tired of giving my best energy to something that gives very little back. At some point “job security” isn’t security — it’s a cage.
The company I work for is bs in the way most big companies are bs: they profit off your loyalty, normalize stress as part of the culture, and call it growth when really it’s just squeezing more out of fewer people. I don’t want to survive my workdays anymore — I want to live my life.
2026 is me choosing peace, creativity, autonomy, and a future that doesn’t require me to be constantly exhausted just to be considered “successful.” I’m done trading my time and nervous system for a paycheck that comes with strings, stress, and silence.
My last day is March 27th .
Yes!! I wish you the best because our company sure doesn’t. This would be 10 years for me and I just can’t let them suck anymore of my soul out.
I would leave my job if a better opportunity came along. Otherwise, I'm staying put for the time being.
Winning the lottery!
