Hi everyone. A PDM specialist here. Joined Deloitte 5+ years back as ‘Senior Solution Engineer -On-site’.Later in June 2017 all these ‘on-site’ folks got rebranded as PDM. Slowly started to realize how PDM is getting sidelined as a ‘discountable’ group. Sometimes I feel contract jobs are better than being at PDM , but obviously tied up with D for visa related issues. No career progression so far and don’t see any positive changes in the near future as well.I think it’s high time to call it a day.

We have unlimited but that doesn’t mean anything lol
Baker Hostetler has 4 weeks and surprisingly they pay you out for time accrued but not used.

“Unlimited.” But policy at my old firm was 20 days and new firm’s recently updated vacation policy says you should think of 4 weeks per year as being the guideline.
The new policy also encourages us to take at least one week of vacation consecutively, so that’s nice.
My personal policy is that I take PTO whenever I want, as long as I’m making hours and not going to screw anyone over.
Same. I typically take two weeks of offline PTO, and 2-3 more weeks of working vacations (2-3 hours per day in the mornings and important calls to keep balls in the air).
We had 4 weeks ostensibly. But it's not paid out, so...🤷♀️

I think we have unlimited? Idk I just take time off whenever I want / whenever it’s reasonable. As long as I’m meeting my hours no one cares.
Anyone willing to share how these policies are set up? For example, if you go to the doctor on a Tuesday, do you have to request PTO? Is PTO that’s paid out just for vacations? What if you’re not making your billable min, does that impact your payout?
Coach
If I go to the doctor, I just let people know I’ll be out. Then we have a billing code for personal time.
For vacations, I clear the dates ahead of time to make sure I’m not overlapping with someone. Ideally I find another associate who will cover for me so I don’t have to stress while I’m gone.
What’s PTO? 😂
I take 4 weeks. My V30 is an unlimited firm, so I suppose could take more. I cannot for the life of me understand why people let their PTO go to waste. Just take it!!
