Hi Fishes, I grabbed an offer at Accenture with 12 LPA fixed for Level 9. I'm not getting a retention offer from my current company at 13.5 lpa. How do I go about a counter offer with Accenture HR? Also tell me how to approach this situation smoothly.
If HR doesn't fulfill the counter offer, is it ok to accept 12 lpa fixed for Level 9 and when will I get a hike here and how much would it be approximately?
Accenture Please provide your insights. This is my first switch so I ne more exposure

Yeah I'd say brand still being built so exit opps TBD, but beating BCG Bain plenty and sometimes McKinsey...
Our happy hours are also usually nice bars than other ACN happy hours
Associate at PwC = Consultant at Accenture. Like A1 said, pay is the highest in ACN, and it's standardized across the board (only Strat has this). Projects vary - there's some true strategy work, but that's somewhat limited with some regular MC work coded as Strategy. I've done mostly cost reduction and operating model design work.
Home office culture is a big deal to ACN. I'm in NorCal and we go above and beyond to provide opportunities to be involved at a local level. I left the military and was afraid I wouldn't find a strong culture at my next employer. ACN really floored me.
In terms of brand building I think you guys are doing better than the mess here with PwC/S& - big reason why I'm looking externally. Appreciate the commentary!
They stood up Accenture Security on September 1. Lots of momentum behind it. The Military ERG is awesome and the informal military network is quite strong. Accenture is a year into its 5000 in 5 initiative where they are trying to hire vets. Fbacn653@gmail.com if you want to talk cyber security practice. Lastly, in Strategy it's no longer "Up or Out" it's "Up or Elsewhere" so if you stagnate in Strategy we will look to move you into Consulting or Operations as a consultant before we let you go.
It seems to be going well, though promo/ratings aren't released for another month or two.
We do still have ratings; the change is that there is no longer a forced distribution for ratings or promo recs. So there are defined criteria for superstar (there's a real term but I forget what it's called), exceeds expectations, meets, or below. And you are rated into one of those groups based on individual performance against those expectations. Same with promotion criteria.
So at the consultant level, for instance, we don't have to say persons X and Y did the same but one has to get a lower rating or not get the promo nod because there is only so many slots.
What it really means is they are making people decisions first, then allocating funds, rather than the other way around as has been done in the past.
Hope that helps to clarify.
Security practice growing, there is a separate "implementation" type security practice and Accenture Strategy has a security strategy practice that's relatively small and does the architecture/roadmap type work. Military is very welcomed at Accenture and most offices have military groups.
Yeah I guess they haven't changed. Accenture strategy will never be on the same level of MBB (and even S&) with policies like this.
They are the highest paid people at all of Accenture. Im an analyst and I hear of 10-15k raises to senior analyst (85-90k base). There is no associate position. The next step up is consultant from Sr Analyst
Any home office culture?
lots of cool strategy work - a lot of it related to "the intersection of business and technology" catch phrase that we tout, but don't want to give away too many secrets. strict up or out model in Accenture strategy and highest pay.. dif from rest of firm...
Exit opps more like big 4 or MBB?
I haven't looked at exit ops personally. But it's in the middle ATM. Brand still being built. Guy from hire class went to PE after 8 mos
Exit opps are somewhere in between big 4 and MBB. AS focus on execution seems to be resonating with high level industry roles and also PE
Same boat as OP - how has the new review process gone over? Seems odd not to get a rating
Oh and the other big recent change, at least within Strat, is the creation of a legit up or out policy, so there is a cap on how long you can be at each level (I think it's 4 at C, 3 at M, 4 or 5 at SM). If you don't et promoted within that time you are either transferred to MC or asked to look for employment elsewhere
@drainmydeck I am looking into Accenture as well. How is the military network within? Any insight on cyber practice?
Thanks A7.
@A7 I thought they were taking security out of Strategy and creating Accenture Security as a whole other division?
