Aeron, if you don’t mind the cost and aren’t concerned about aesthetics

like

Steelcase gesture is great

Second this. My husband and I both have this one.

I researched affordable ergonomic chairs ad nauseum, and after much toil picked the perfect chair. That chair is in my garage and I have an Aeron now.

I ordered a refurbished Aereon from Crandall Office. You can sometimes find them even cheaper on local FB marketplace or Craigslist if you are lucky

likesmart

Yep got my aeron refurbished for 500-600. Been using it since 2018 no issues.

You should go sit in the following to decide for yourself: Herman Miller Aeron; Herman Miller Embody; Steelcase Leap V2; Steelcase Gesture; Humanscale Freedom; Haworth Fern.

They are all about the same price (give or take a few hundred), are all high quality, but all offer very different feels.

I have an Aeron, am about to swap it out for Leap, and have sat in every chair I just mentioned but the Embody in the last 48 hours.

What did you like more about the Leap?

smart

Aeron. Undoubtedly the best chair I have ever owned, and I will never use another office chair at home.

like

Love my Aeron. Worth every penny.

like

Aeron. Tried cheaper alternatives for my home office which was fine when I was in biglaw and in-office 3-4x per week, but had to invest in an Aeron at home when I started a full time remote in house job. Saved my back!!!

like

You just came here to brag right? 😆 I don’t blame you

funny

Thanks everyone! Given the overwhelming support, I am going to get the Aeron. There are a few second hand sales near me for $400-500.
I am 6ft, 220pounds, would size B be the best?

like

If it helps, I am 5’5” and 170-180 and went with the smallest size. It fits perfectly.

like

I like my Lazy Boy Aberdeen for comfort and aesthetics and a plush feel if you’re trying to spend under $500 and want something that both looks and feels nice. Can’t compete with the Aeron. Tried one out in a showroom years ago with my mom and neither of us can forget that chair

Aeron wasn’t great for me, but I’m super tall. I found a leather chair from Oak Hollow that worked well.

Edit: this one (https://oakhollowfurniture.com/collections/leather/products/aloria-leather-headrest)

Same issue as A3, I got the Steelcase Leap and love it.

like

Haworth Soji. Got one through a prior employer discount program and got my mom one through fb marketplace — solved her back pain! Highly recommend

Steelcase leap for me

I use a black gaming chair (not a gamer). But it’s cheap, great to sit in for hours and doesn’t look silly if I get on a call

The X-Chair is my favorite

Hi SpEd Teachers, is anyone else facing EXTREME staff shortages as a result of state funding? We are not able to meet my students' IEP requirements (not even close) due to not enough paraprofessionals and the district flat out refusing to hire more. I've lost 70+ hrs/week of para hours over the past few years and my students are really suffering. This leaves our district open to lawsuits, but the real problem is the state's education budget. What can we do?? This isn't going to fix itself.

Are Uber/Lyft drivers reluctant to drive from DC (Logan) to BWI?

The only way too fix the shortage of drivers is to pay them a living wage. I'm a driver on my second retirement. I drive bus because I have a blast. The kids are great.
I have learned that there are a lot of drivers that are single mothers living at poverty level.
Our government sent money to teachers and left the transportation department out.
Bus drivers deserve better.

Texans. Just got an offer from a V10 to relocate down and do litigation. Excited but the offer was 20k below market. Talked to managing partner and they said it’s the market in Houston so if I can find other firms paying full market they will raise it since I’ll be the only jr. - mid level.
