Most Wachtell associates bill over 3000 hours per year.

Hours at Cravath are only slightly better (average is probably at least 2700).

All other big law firms expect about 2000 hours.

So just throwing this out there. Can agencies give us WFH bonuses to cover the cost of setting up a home office? I had to invest quite a hefty sum for a desk, office chair and upgrade my wifi connection. Also, can we deduct our work space rent area for tax purposes? Every little bit helps!

Anyone else feel the social struggles of being a remote consultant in a LCOL city?

Love my friends but most work blue collar / shift (healthcare provider) type jobs. Because of this they are often not available on Friday nights/weekends/holidays like tonight.

How do you deal with this?

I work hard and I wish I could play hard.

I just returned from travel to DC- it was really refreshing to see loads of young people enjoying evening life.

Urgent! I have received an offer. However, under group medical insurance, there is no coverage offered for my parents (very important).
Tried to negotiate, but company is saying that they'll be speaking to the insurer once I join.
P. S: Job switch is very critical due to location. Salary is secondary.
