From what I’ve seen and been told definitely boomerang if you’re not MBB/T2. Others have such slow progression.
Yes, you can hired as a DEP (direct entry partner), but it’s not easy and the success rate is mixed. Best route is longevity (that being said, I was a DEP and I have no regrets…but most of the other DEPs who were hired when I was didn’t last).
I think boomerang is the best route, but coming in before partner. From what I’ve seen - start as a consultant, go into industry for about 8-10 years, come back for a year or two before making partner.
That being said the fastest route, if you can make it, is staying and grinding. I think boomerangs would be “average” pace at best. The quickest, albeit very few, is longevity.
