Eager to hear more.
Accepted an offer recently based on the people I met. My experience was exceptional
ATK is a great firm - the people are awesome!
But it does have some structural/ scale issues (new MP is very much trying to address, but it's an uphill battle). I'm leaving after bonuses in January (a lot of folks have/ are from what I hear). But if the grass isn't greener, I would go back to ATK in a hearbeat.
ATK2: could you elaborate a bit pls?
Been here for 2 years
Pros: very friendly, collegial, fun culture. People don’t take themselves too seriously. Lots of firm parties, events, beer cart, etc. In general minimal direct competition, very much an individual performance culture. Feels close knit given the size of firm. Entrepreneurial- it’s easy to start new things and initiatives, there are not many rules at all. People are humble in general
Cons: pretty bad work life balance- a lot of initiatives to fix this but is still a major issue. Not as innovative as some of our competitors. Typical downside of a small firm where everyone knows everyone else, reputations are critical and stick with you
S& no they aren’t forced ranked in any way- we’re had classes where everyone got promoted, some where very few people did. Does S& force rank?
BA1 when you say minimal direct competition, you mean promotions and ratings are not force ranked?
BA1 most B4s do. Like at D we have only 10% of people in each class that can get the top rating, and then the bottom 10-15% get put on performance improvement plans or whatever they’re called
