Got the call for this piece yesterday.

Loving the green

This design makes me ridiculously happy. That’s all.

Thoughts on a Omega De Ville Prestige as a first luxury watch? Would be ~$7.5K USD at retail. Some friends have said great things about Omega as a starter, whereas others say it’s not worth it over a Rolex Oyster Perpetual (which would be similar in cost).
I personally love how clean the design is, the use of gold, and the thinner band as it links the watch … find the Rolex band design to be too chunky.

No one cares. Wear whatever you feel like.
The only time to be a little careful is if you’re going to some manufacturing site expecting to cut heads. Maybe leave the Rolex at home for that one. Otherwise no one cares.
The point isn’t being cut because you’re wearing a nice watch, it’s you doing the cutting while wearing it… implies the company has money to spend for expensive consultants while engaging in cost-cutting which is never a good look

Ignore everyone else. This is the only right answer. Plus, it’s on sale!
Does it show water consumption?

I’ve been wearing my Daytona since 2018 and a total of 2 people have noticed.
To provide some useful advice, I think it depends on your level within your company. As much as people won’t admit it here, I’m sure many would think negatively and “family money” if a fresh out of college kid was wearing a Daytona or Nautilus. Use your sound judgment. If you tell us your watch you were thinking of wearing, we could give some thoughts. Most likely it will be “wear it and enjoy it”
Somethings in life are earned!
Your professional image around the office and to clients should be carefully managed, and it will depend on the environment. What people think of you is based on your work, but also how you present yourself. What you say, how you say it, and what you wear.
At home I wear a stained white T, gym shorts, and my sub, cuz IDGAF. The C suites at my old gig were all watch guys, so I’d wear a luxury watch daily there.
On the other hand, if I’m meeting a cost conscientious client, or in trial trying to say my client is a small mom and pop, maybe I don’t wear a watch that costs more than some juror’s cars. Hell, I’ve rented budget cars before to avoid looking too ostentatious. Other times I expressly wanted to look like an overpaid shark. But if I’m going to Mexico City or Brazil you can bet I’m leaving all bling at home…
I wear a Tudor Submariner.
It’s a both a Rolex and a classic while also staying humble. It’s Elanor from Gone in Sixty Seconds.
Just scooped a BB58. Tudor is such a nice medium where you're not flashy but watch people know
An Apple Watch probably
Siri went off (unprovoked) at lunch while I was sitting with the data protection partner. :P He “joked” that I must disable voice commands and recording at work. :P
Thank you to the people that answered helpfully
To company office, I wear whatever. To client site, I play it safe to start.
This. Know your audience. If I’m going to a construction site I’m not going to wear x dollar loafers and X brand watch amongst people who may look at me like a trust fund baby(I’m not) vs if I’m meeting c suite executives in which case I’ll toss on the nice watch etc.

Bankruptcy, restructuring, layoffs, etc. leave the recognizable watches at home and probably stay away from two tone/ gold. Everything else wear whatever
Seiko Divers watch SRPD61 series
Clients have noticed and commented when I wear an expensive watch. I once earned a very large client because he admired my Daytona, and actually told me that was the tipping point as he was interviewing advisors.
No, he chose a watch collector like himself

As a fellow Kearney person, I just assume anyone who’s below prin with a nice watch either spends their money poorly or has wealthy parents - or both

Compensating for what lol. It’s a luxury good, of course it’s not a good use of money, it’s about enjoying the piece.
Do you not own any watches since you’re a manager?
What I wear is no one else’s business but my own. I don’t flash it around, that would be “rude”. And if someone judges me based on what watch I am wearing, then the problem is not with me.
It’s a personal preference. For invicta, it just they way they price their watches. It’s ridiculous. As for TAG, it really has nothing to do with their watches. They have some good looking piece. It’s more of how they market their watches. Breitling is heading the same way. 😢😢.
