First take a second to see if you’re the problem. Did you truly provide the coaching, check ins, expectations, and channel to answer questions to really conclude to “inconsistent, lazy, and let’s remove?”
If the answer is really yes - consider succession plans. You need someone to coach under you so that you have recurring knowledge in the role so you’re able to eventually grow into new opportunities and let ppl below your grow into your current shoes. Is the opportunity cost of starting from scratch with a new associate really better than the lack of growth potential for this person?
Idk the answer without know more - but there should be much more consideration than “they weren’t great, kick them off” bc that’s exceptionally short sighted.
Thank you! The answer is actually yes. But they didn’t take the training I provided and grow. They subtracted a lot from me. I almost didn’t file in time the day of. They didn’t even understand how important filing was after I explained it to them. Blaming the staff is old, my old SA did that to me. This staff really just didn’t do well. I’m actually worried for their next engagement.
