Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?
Hii Guys, Could anyone give me some clarity on the below point. I have cleared 2nd round of technical interview at Deloitte, but my candidature is still showing as interview in progress at Deloitte careers page. I had a discussion with HR on this and she told me that next process is pending from management side. It's been almost 10 days since from 2 nd round of interview. How much more time does it gonna take, any idea? Or is it normal. Please help me with this 🙏🙏 .Deloitte

It dictates everything- what projects you focus on, what role you play in said projects, there is a constant vying for credit and moreover, flaunting the work in front of leadership. It determines your bonus/promotion but can also be the catalyst for a pip. It’s a stressful process and encourages folks to tear each other down.
People get fired, but they give a pretty generous severance. It’s still a stressful process.
I mean yes. It is unlikely since you’re given time to ramp and can’t be rated in your first 3 months but in theory, yes you can. I’d say this is likely an absolute outlier or if a percentage of cuts are needed and you’re not progressing quickly enough. Not really something to worry about too much assuming you’re a hard worker plus the talent pool at an associate or below level tends to be a bit less intense.
It is that bad! It is not really about quality work. It is a mean girl competition type of thing. It is all about trying to outshine your colleague so you come out good but in “theory” we are all this lovely group who supports each other and we are all allowed to make mistakes…. But trust me the smallest mistakes will come up on your PM and if you fall on the below side of your team because you WILL be calibrated against peers who have been there for many years and knows the system so they will most like come out stronger than you…. And then my friend your smallest mistakes or even things you had nothing to do with it will come up and will be used to create a story of why you are low and once you fall into the bs bucket you will be on the low end on your next pm cycles and risk another BS and PIP.
I lived that and I just got laid off yesterday because of that. One year with the company and a BS for YE. Successfully Completed a CP and two months later here I am on the group that was “laid off” for performance reasons. You want to deal with that and have no problem stabbing people in the back and kissing a lot of @$$ go right ahead as that might be the place for you.
Sorry to hear that A1. I wish you good luck on your search if you haven’t found something yet!
I’m currently interviewing for Cap1 rn for one of the associate roles and the culture is definitely scary.
To be honest tho if I do get the role which I probably won’t, the salary diff is big enough for me to accept it. Here’s to hoping for the best 🥂!
I think it really depends on your manager. They’re the ones who will be advocating for you in meetings, so they’ll have a big impact on what your rating is
Is the stack ranking at Director levels too?
Yes, and I think VP levels.
