Simple: "What was your undergraduate GPA?"
I did tell the interviewer my (admittedly quite low) GPA, but I didn't tell them how I had recently exited a toxic romantic relationship and had suffered extreme mental distress, including bouts of suicidal ideation, during my freshman year of college. I should have been on medical leave from the school, let alone handling hazardous chemicals in Gen Chem lab.
While sitting in the interview, I had already decided not to work with or at that company.
From a senior manager who knew me "How would you need to change your personality if you got this job". Should have walked straight out at that point, there was obviously no point me being there!
”How would you feel about holding a sea urchin?” Apparently they had had an intern that sob tears of fear that summer.
Not so much an awkward question as a totally negative response to a reasonable answer. It was one of the “Tell me about a situation in which you had to (whatever) and how did you resolve it.” Most of my best, and clearest, examples come from hobbies outside work. In my spare time I’m an offshore yachtsman. Leading a crew of volunteers of mixed abilities in a safety-critical environment is a tough management assignment on all fronts, but the interviewer didn’t want to accept any of this.
Personally, these examples given from this outside work hobby I would say are some of the best forms of examples. Tell's people how you are outside of work, how you handle mixed personalities, specifically during managing of a difficult environment. Not sure the interviewer understood the assignment.
What’s your favorite fruit? It was a weird question but looking back it was to see how someone responds to something out of the normal or if they even had a sense of humor. I know it’s not work related but who really wants to spend 9-10 hours with a spud

If I was to go into your room right now, is your bed made? I mean....it is made but what did that have to do with the job? It was so weird.
