👀What’s the worst or most awkward question you've been asked during an interview?

Hi All, first post and looking for insight! I have an interview coming up for New York Life Insurance Company’s Management Fast Track Program. Does anyone have any experience with NYL or can speak to anything I can anticipate or should be aware of going into this opportunity?

I’m a non-TX immigration attorney mentoring a UT student who went to my undergrad. He’s done incredibly well in OCI and pre-OCI. Thus far, he’s landed interviews with (all in Houston): Baker Botts, Sidley Austin, Kirkland, Winston Strawn, Reed Smith, Norton Rose, and Locke Lord. Also Perkins Coie in Dallas. He’s leaning transactional, but also open to litigation. Any insights/advice on these firms in the TX market? Any to avoid?

Interviewing at Microsoft and they are doing a centralized interview in 1 day. Essentially I will have 4 straight hours of interview with a 15 minute presentation. Does this sound normal for Microsoft? Any suggestions for interviewing there?

Has anyone here worked at or worked with CMS Payments Intelligence (CMSPI)? I was contacted by a recruiter for a position there and have a first interview on Monday. I'm currently pretty happy with my current job so this would have to be something special to entice me to leave. Would love any info on the culture etc.

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭

Hi , i had given 2 interviews in Deloitte USi for cloud data engineer CBO unit. My LWD is in 10 days. Last Friday an HR called for salary discussion. No updates after that, tried calling/ e-mailing but no response. Did not receive any LOI either. Any idea what this means? Can anyone help to follow up internally?

Hey Gente, Im applying for jobs and I wanted to get others opinion on the race part of the application process. As an indigenous LatinX I worry that if I put indigenous it won’t tick the “diversity” box for the algorithm or recruiters. I work with (not in) the I&D dept at my company and our target recruiting groups don’t include or mention indigenous. Any recruiters here that have insight?

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly.
