Top worst audit industries?
Think they did a good job on this piece. It was a truly embarrassing moment for the firm, but I think it’s being handled as well as can be expected. Should go smoothly this year 🤞

What level? For staff, utilization (metrics) heavily impact rating. Snapshot dimensions impact promotion.
Snapshots. Utilization is a check the box "did he hit the target" item. You can be highly utilized, but still suck.
Utilization works like this, if you’re in the bottom 5-10% it’s a problem, everywhere else doesn’t matter
OP. Lots of assumptions but I’d guess you were early promoted because you had so many above levels, not your tier. Depends on what your specific developmental actions are and if its indicative of a trend that might impact performance or just things to help a good person get better. If the latter, I’d say a 2 isn’t out of reach. Roughly 10% of peer group are 1’s, 20% 2’s and 60% 3’s
That’s not true. It’s around 30% for 2 and 3 at the senior level
Sounds like you should be ok. But I must ask: 3 partially at level out of how many total snapshots? And did those reviewers give you any developmental actions?
@PwC 1- 3 partially at level out of 8 snapshots but also had 2 partially at next for the same dimension - whole leadership. Any partially at level requires development actions so yes, I have them and they are related to leading self/being involved with drama... but comments how well I am doing leading the team). I just don’t want to lose tier 2... if I get tier 3, might rage quit! It was a really tough busy season 🙃
How many months have you been here
@Director 1- 2nd year senior. @PwC 3- been here 3 years, worked on 2 projects this year.
Are they all from the same reviewer/engagement? I would think partial after first year is not ideal
First year in new role
You need to understand what was said. Where you are on the scale has no relevance to your rating. How many solid differentiators do you have? That’s more of an indicator than the scale
Everyone grades differently in their snaps. My first year I had nothing but partials and was 1 rated while other coworkers had much higher snaps and were 3s. The sliders themselves, therefore, are mostly irrelevant. It's all about what your managers and/or partners think about you, which sadly doesn't always align with true performance.
Well, the gist of what is being communicated to me is the partner thinks I cause drama at times with the directors (which is in part due to the difficult large audit client) but also gave me a PD to say I always perform outstanding work. 🤷🏼♀️
Pwc 4, no its because the sliders have nothing to do with rating, they only determine readiness for promotion. The differentiators mostly impact rating.
That’s what I’ve been told ^
@Director 1- So if I have development actions mixed with differentiators and the highest utilization when compared to other peers, is that enough to get tier 2 vs tier 3 ranking? The reason I’m asking is bc my first year at PwC as an A2 – ranked tier 2 with 6-7 differentiators, hit utilization target, and all dimensions were rated “partially above/above level” – but was still early promoted to senior? It seems like tier 1 is pretty much an impossible expectation.
Maybe it's different for big groups where snaps are actually relied on for ratings purposes but in my groups snaps are just a formality. They're used to document poor performance if someone is struggling and evidence is needed but as far as ratings go it all comes down to group opinion. I recognize every group is different though and I only say this because I've never gotten a performance differentiator... doesn't seem to impact my rating though.
Development actions are bad
Pwc3 that’s not true. When a person struggles to correlate the framework to their role in their practice, developmental points help provide specific actions that need to be demonstrated for that reviewer. Unfortunately, there’s too much misinformation and laziness.
