Love this question! Congratulations to you for starting the process -- it is stressful and overwhelming but I know you will find the right opportunity for you and your family :)
I am having trouble picking, but here’s one that comes to mind: Dy, a special education teacher, and her wife Jen, a first responder, were looking for their first home with their two young daughters. They tried accessing every city and state program for first time homebuyers, teachers and first responders but it wasn’t working (they made a few thousand dollars over the income limit, or the process was slow). They decided that instead of buying, they would live longterm in their 1 bedroom apartment -- they bought a pullout couch to sleep on in the living room. But then we got connected and they decided to give it another try. They made about 12 offers before they got one accepted -- they were so strong and resilient in the face of defeat, learning as much as possible each time about what they wanted and what the market was saying. We knew that the right home was out there for them. They finally found a home that was only a few blocks from their apartment, and wrote a heartfelt letter to the sellers about the live they envisioned for themselves. The sellers who had loved and cared for the home, felt compelled by their story and they won the offer. A few months after starting the process for the last time, they moved into their dream home.
