Happy to share! I copied and pasted below a response I posted to another similar question in this Bowl:

Our CEO and my co-founder Jonathan, and I, met while graduate students at Stanford University (the picture here is from our early days going from whiteboard to real company!) He's a trained engineer who worked in finance and housing policy. I'm a trained campaign organizer who worked in politics and for a variety of social mission and technology startups in positions where my job was to enroll more people in whatever mission I was on at the time. We both wanted to dig into the question of how we are all going to continue thriving in our cities as things keep getting so da*n expensive!

We teamed up with our third co-founder, Jesse, to bring about a financial tool that truly shared in the risk of building wealth for those who may not have access to the level of family wealth often required to 'get in the game'. It was clear that the essential professionals in our communities (our educators, nurses, first responders) often squarely fit in this category, and given their importance to all of us thriving, we wanted to focus our efforts on serving this particular group of people in their quest to build financial security and continue to have the choice to serve their communities. All of us have members of our families who are or were teachers (both Jesse's mom and my mom were teachers!), so this work is deeply personal to each of us.

We formed the company as a real estate brokerage that gets paid for our services from fees shared with real estate agents who help homebuyers buy their home, and, we set out to partner with large philanthropies to raise the down payment funds needed to offer down payment support. Doing it this way meant we could have a sustainable organization that didn't charge homebuying educators (or the school districts they work for) any more money than is already required to buy a home (I mean, if we did, what's the point!) We're now a team of about 30 folks with backgrounds as former teachers, investors, consultants, and organizers who are committed to upholding the people who uphold all of us.

I wrote this blog post to share a little bit more about my person story and lessons learned from building the company if you're interested! https://www.landed.com/blog/how-landed-is-helping-give-more-educators-a-place-to-call-home

Hey all! I’m 30 years old. About to close on a house with a 5.75% fixed 30 yr mortgage. If you were me and your goal was to maximize your net worth by retirement, would you put a few thousand dollars extra into paying down the house faster or invest that extra money in the market? The 5.75% doesn’t feel that low but also not crazy high so I’m torn. Thoughts? 🙏

My investments below:

* Large cap mutual funds - 6 (total 40K sip per month) current portfolio of 4L

I have cash to put a large down payment to avoid the high rates but am scared I have no roots and will move in another few years.
