Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

I don’t mention it unless they need to hear a play by play of why I left every previous job.
But if it comes up, I’ll say something like “At XZY agency, I worked on these clients. But then we got hit with layoffs.” I wouldn’t lie about it - layoffs aren’t something to be ashamed of.
You can, it’s completely up to you. I find that I have more leverage when I’m employed or they think that I’m still employed.
I got laid off because we lost 3 clients and i’m always being honest about it. Majority of recruiters who i talked to said “oh that’s nature of this industry” or “been there before”.
Unless you got laid off because of your fault, i would say just be honest
I just said I was consulting and "left my agency in July". No one ever pressed.
And the reason I did so was because I personally felt so insecure/ashamed. Worked for me but if it feels more authentic to say that you were laid off do it! Agree with the above
