Faced this weird behaviour from Optum recently. Gave interview for Data Scientist position. HR said feedback is positive. Asked for documents. It's been month now since I have shared the documents. I have no update on the offer. Today I called HR, she called me back saying the position is on hold due to recalibration in team, She has shared interview feedbacks to other teams and will get back to me in couple of days. I am clueless now. My last working day is approaching (In a month). Any Help??

Blaming a staff?! Maybe there is an issue with the instructions they're given.
Spend more time doing recruiting if you have a problem with talent. Or take a step back and realize that when you were a new staff you didn’t know everything either

Don’t assume OP is an idiot. Haven’t we all dealt with staff who are not coachable and who truly were not a good fit for the job?

Seniors complaining about staff performance is not a new thing. The problem is seniors don't realize how much they sucked as a staff, and they think the new class is inferior...this always happens, I even went through this phase.

@AS1, I wish the best of luck cause wherever you go, chances are it’s the same case everywhere. They are STAFF for a reason.... not everyone develops and learn at the same pace. Be realistic, if obviously they are like a 4 year staff and never promoted, then yes there is a problem and usually those ppl get weeded out
Man I was just trying to vent hahaha I do spend a lot of time coaching and teaching people so not just writing people off from the get go, so simmer down. Just a LOT of people that aren’t willing to be coached and get attitudes when getting review comments. Trust me there are definitely super star staff that I don’t hesitate to recognize. Sorry to start a shit storm 😂
I just need some staff. If you don’t like them, send them my way.
@SC1 the coffee and food runs are not enough to justify a $60k+ salary and a huge hit to budgets everywhere, year-round. It’s frustrating coming from a small firm where people actually recognized that the non-contributors affect your take home salary and the partners’ bottom lines. At the midsize regional firm I’m at now, people can get by two whole years without understanding audit at all, and without really even trying
PwC had been doing it did years.

I have staff that constantly misses check boxes if they were not checked in the system, misses numbers here and there. Gave him feedback about self-review. The next thing I get was return with check boxes left blank...
Feedback was very laid back and I tried to make my staff feel at ease.
