EY Deloitte PwC people - would you leave your current employer for a 15%-25% total comp difference? This translates to a 25-45k difference per annum, largely driven by bonus at the new firm (20-40%), much smaller than my current employer. Doesn’t feel like a great exit opportunity - currently at big 4 this would be moving to a niche consulting company

Interviewed at Deloitte, PwC and EY for Advisory Senior Consultant role. Deloitte offered $105K (plus $5K bonus), PWC offered $127K (plus $15K bonus) and EY offered $155K (plus $10K bonus). Surprised with the difference in pay between Deloitte & EY for same role. Is Deloitte Advisory paying less compared to other firms? 4.5YOE in Consulting.

If they have to say they only take the top 5%, that means they probably don’t. Classic case of “if you have to say you’re the alpha, you’re not the alpha”
It’s just corporate speak. They have no idea what they are hiring,
I was asked once by someone at Gartner who was at Deloitte previously. I wasn’t even at Deloitte when I interviewed but he asked me what my annual review rating was between 1-5. I said we don’t do that, and honestly it was a poor reflection of him. There is absolutely no way consulting firms are ranking their people by percentages, as if we were all in high schools. They’ll take the 5% of big 4 they can afford to poach

They say that to make themselves look/feel better.
I worked at a small firm that used to say that and when I joined I realized that they took some folks that were nowhere near being at the top 50%. They had some good, but not the top of the top they would brag about.
