Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

Shouldn't you be senior enough to know the answer to this?
Lmao you realize that there are vault 70-100 firms (Cahill, irell, susman) that pay well above and are more preftigious than v5s right?
I mean yea: the pay at Cahill is much higher

If you have no exit strategy as a senior associate, it will be important to understand how long you can stay as a senior associate at that firm, elevation process for the counsel position (if it exists), elevation process for NEP (if it exists), what former senior associates/associates in the group did after leaving the firm, and how the firm handles exits.

I don’t mean this disrespectfully, but how are you a senior associate asking a question like this? I’m only a junior associate and even I know that there are plenty of factors that matter more than vault rankings when lateraling. For example a firm can have certain highly regarded practice groups despite having a lower Vault ranking. And if partnership is the goal, a v40 may very well offer a clearer path than a v10. Another factor: some people also find that wlb is at least somewhat better further down the Vault rankings. C’mon man, just think for a second because there TONS of factors outside vault rankings to consider

No way you’re a senior associate if you’re using vault
