When y'all present TV scripts to a client, how many scripts do you present in total? What's the most you'll present in one single client presentation? And does this vary whether it's a pitch or an existing client?

We routinely present 10+ to clients and it feels to this non-creative like that's way too many, but maybe I'm wrong.

I present 10 scripts (or synopsises) for a creative check-in. Going to a client with 10 scripts is a dumb move from the agency. It reduces the agency to a fast food restaurant. If the agency stands for something they present 3 scripts tops.

like

10 for an internal review is great, but only 3-5 should move on to the client.

like

3 scripts per brief

Usually 3 scripts if we already have a campaign/territory going into the meeting. If we're trying to sell the campaign itself, we go in with 2-3 buckets, 1-2 scripts under each.

Like everyone else is saying, 3 is the magic number

Stop presenting so many options, everyone.

You should always do three: the "safe option", the "middle of the road", and the "edgy one" or even a "wild card". if they're an open minded client. This includes scripts, big ideas, one-offs, etc. Three is the magic number.

That many options is bonkers. You're killing more work than you need to, nobody wants to see the same script twice, so you're sacrificing all of them at once. Too many options also creates a conflict in choice and reasoning.

Make the safe option fit their brief precisely to a T, but convince them it looks like a bad idea. Make the middle of the road the best sell all around, even if it slightly changes their brief. Still hype up the edgy one and/or/wild card just in case, you always want to try—but the biggest key is to get them to avoid the worst idea, which is generally the one so many clients would want to gravitate to.

If they don't like any, come back with another set of three. If they like one, blow it out. If they demand the safe option, at least fix the holes anyway so they're happy with you, and try again on the next ask. Once in a blue moon, they just might go for a wild card. Most work we do will always suck. Never fully give-up though.

Richard Nixon's advisors used to go to him with three options: one that would cause a catastrophic global apocalypse, one that would make him look bad, and the one they wanted him to choose. He always went with the one they wanted him to.

Now imagine if they presented him with 10 lol

Usually three

Hi everyone,
I want to learn Salesforce Tableau CRM (formerly known as Einstein Analytics) and switch to a different organisation. In my current company stuck in a project where there's no learning scope, no growth and work culture is toxic. Now I'm only going through Trailhead, YouTube playlist videos and practicing hands on in my free personal org. Are these enough to crack interviews or not? I don't have real-time project experience.

Hi Fishers,

Wanted a small help,
I recently got an offer from Telstra but in the Offer Letter its written- I am pleased to confirm your new offer of employment with Telstra Global Business Services LLP., an entity within the Telstra Group.

So does it mean that Telstra Services will be providing service to some other client or it provides services to its own product?

I am a UX designer and have spoken with a potential client who intially wanted to redesign the navigation and landing page of their site. They showed me analytics saying only .35% of users open the main menu (most access different pages through Google search and then leave the site) so it's not worth the time to redesign. I see a lot of growth potential here, but they don't see the value in good nav if users don't already use it. How do I show them the value of good nav? Should I just let it go?

Partner went to bat for me! 🙂
Last night, I got a nastygram from a client who basically wanted to forego due diligence in a major buyout we’re helping him with. “Stop requesting documents and just draft me my docs.” But we literally don’t know who owns what right now, terrible corporate records. This morning, the partner told me he’ll probably fire this client, big pat on the back.

This will be a 3-4 day part-time engagement. I’m at a small tech focused firm, and don’t have in-house designers as yet. Plus I don’t want to spend hours building slides. Nothing illegal or fishy here. Thanks!

I’m a second year associate at a small, but reputable firm. My caseload is almost entirely made up of clients who were referred to one of the partners but the partners are too busy so I end up taking the case. The clients are told up front that an associate, rather than a partner will be taking his/her case. I’ve run into an issue a couple of times where the client doubts my advice because I am only 2 years in. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I address the fact that I’m only 2 years in?

Hi all!
Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?
