In terms of just $$ becoming partner is probably more lucrative imo
If money is the only thing in the equation, you'll always be wanting more.
I would flip the question and ask you at what $ you'll feel you have 'enough'?
I will look for Partner😀😀
exit to the industry..
34, $227k base. Going for partner but would be ok without it honestly
I was in same situation at 33, left to go to industry. Decided the WLB wasn’t worth it for partner.
But doesn’t it actually get better/easier as you go higher? Like it’s less actual work, more fuzzy sales bs, also you will have more people at your command, and you get paid more, so why not?
Selling is different from grinding out decks or work products that require precision and focused attention. It is relationship building and entertaining customers. At that level you will have a lot more command on resources and a level of autonomy, fewer people can interference with your work. Also, people who put themselves in / make it to that position to be selling tend to be naturally good at it. Plus, you would have been at this game long enough to know the in’s and out’s, far from a new bee
I wish I were you. How did you get to the level you are and at your age?
In the same boat and wondering the same thing. I’m wondering what’s happiness and what’s the income I can work with. Bay Area is expensive and houses are $1,500 / sqft at least. Being a single mom of my boy would be tough too.
Which level / roles are you considering in FAANG?
