If youre entering at anything above an associate. Youre expected to hit the ground running
I have a friend that went over as a senior and he received a lot of training in the beginning.
You’re expected to drown until you learn to swim.
I sat through a lot of training that I feel wasn’t useful. I learned on the job which was a tough … 2 years …before I felt like I could breathe
Joined as a manager. Got zero training but that’s what I expected. Not mad about it, just find the right mentors.
I’d say for intern/associate lvl you get quite a lot of training (3/4 weeks). Is the training relevant to your work? Not necessarily. The expectation is that you know nothing. Although, as an experienced associate who now trains the new staff I at least expect the new joiners to know Excel. Let’s be honest, not knowing Excel in 2025 is not a good sign
Do they know older versions of Excel? Or just not know Excel at all? Anybody who doesn't know any of the MS products would be problematic.
The higher the quality and cost of the training, the higher the expectations.

What kind of training are you expecting? The only relevant training is hands on so your question is really how willing is your supervisor to answer your questions and help you learn things. Well that depends on your supervisor and nothing else
Depends who trains you, it’s hit or miss. My experience has been brutal. Was told I’d be taught everything I need to know, but really you’re expected to learn everything you can on your own and only ask questions when you can’t figure something out on your own.
I assume by "enter" you mean someone who doesn't have a lot of experience. If that is the case, then you should expect a fair amount of training. Both in terms of knowledge and just fitting in with the firm.
