I only share a window at a time. Yes sometimes it means I have to stop share and re share a new window but that slight delay is better than an embarrassing message. I also use two monitors and you’ll see that notifications only show on main monitor not the secondary. For larger presentations where you are the key presenter and you will be presenting for some time and you only have one screen, I just log out of all IM and email clients. I close everything else and only keep what I need open.

like

Just close out of everything you wouldn’t want the client to see. Easy.

I’m not losing any sleep over it.

Only share a specific document of application, never share your desktop!

like

I mean how do people not know this by now! Never choose screen (unless there’s something you need to show there but can’t think what) and select the specific document you want to show.

like

I set myself on do not disturb so pings don’t show up

like

We use Teams, and the do not disturb status blocks the notifications from popping on screen

likehelpful

When you share your screen in a meeting that you have planned, you should close everything else (including email) and focus on the meeting. And set any messaging app to do not disturb.

like

Open a new desktop and move the application you want to screen share to it prior to your meeting. That way you don’t have to close out of whatever else you have open. This is my preferred method so I can keep my ADHD-fueled rat’s nest of open applications going 🥴

I never go on camera or share screen.

like

Congrats on your reading comprehension skills 👏🏻

funny

If you have one screen share only the application.

like

I only share my external monitor and clear the screen of any other applications prior to. So I keep everything else on my main monitor where I can take notes and whatever else.

like

Select the second row, the specific document. That way the pings or notifications wont show.
