Hii Guys, Could anyone give me some clarity on the below point. I have cleared 2nd round of technical interview at Deloitte, but my candidature is still showing as interview in progress at Deloitte careers page. I had a discussion with HR on this and she told me that next process is pending from management side. It's been almost 10 days since from 2 nd round of interview. How much more time does it gonna take, any idea? Or is it normal. Please help me with this 🙏🙏 .Deloitte

I’ve been in retail on and off for 20 years. I always check out the company online 1st. From the vision of the CEO down to the back stock room clerk. Then I have worked for Nordstrom’s 2 times . At 19 and 54. I am not impressed with at least the small store. The Topanga when age 19 was only 1 of 3 in CA it was so classy as far the atmosphere. No faded jeans a tee shirt and converse or vans tennis shoes. Then I read where is the retailer currently as a brick and mortar in this day and age. Ahead of time I view the package deal and their matching 401k. When interviewing say a department manager, I always ask how long they have been with the company? I ask “well what position did you start in”? I get the feel and vibe of if the Management is happy and has experience growth with-in the company. What my job duties will entail and the hours I will be working . Is it hourly and if we make the monthly or quarterly goal do we all bonus? Do they cut a lot of hours each schedule based on the business? That is a big one. You are interviewing the company as much as they are interviewing you! Do Management only get FT ? Or can any position get FT? What is their training program, how many days? Or am I just learn as we go? I also read about the companies. How many years ago did they open their doors? Is it something I would buy and be glad to represent the products. What is their e-commerce business like? Is that affecting the store and the sales badly with-in the store. I also like busy stores I have worked for high volume and lower volume. Then big box like Walmart super Center or Target vs say Home Depot??? I think I have given you a great base to find out to do some research and see what you want in a company and what position!!! Good Luck!👍

That’s such solid advice, thank you for taking the time to break all of that down. You can really tell it comes from years of real experience. I love how you focus on growth, training, and whether the company is actually worth representing. Interviews really do go both ways, and this is a great checklist for anyone in retail.

Definitely ask about the company’s culture. They should speak to how they treat their employees, initiatives they care about it as a company. Generic answers are a red flag. They should have a well established identity in how they treat their employees and their philosophy in cultivating a positive workplace environment

So true. If they can’t clearly explain their culture, that’s a big red flag.
I like to ask about how feedback is given, how tasks are managed in the team. I try to keep it specific. Asking about culture is a great question, but kind of too open-ended in my opinion.

That’s a really good point, gives a much clearer picture!
I always ask about turnover and culture at the company. It also doesn't hurt to ask them what led to them hiring for the role that you are interviewing for. I have found that can also be very telling.

That’s such a smart question to ask. Turnover and culture tell you a lot.

I love when it gets to the questions because it's your reminder to make sure that the job is for you. You're trying to Sus them out like they are to you.

Exactly this. Interviews go both ways, you’re choosing them too.
