4 months. No joke this dude was out for 4 months.

1) I would absolutely take the full amount of time permitted if I knew it wouldn’t affect my career

2) I don’t think that taking 2+ month maternity for women would have a detrimental affect. It’s basically assumed women will take the full amount of time, it’s different for men

We’re at 2 weeks. Not expecting to win this one...

How long do you guys plan on taking and why? I’m thinking maybe 2 weeks. Not worth a big drop in bonus by taking more days I guess

like

At Barclays we have 6 weeks and I was basically told that it would affect my bonus if I took more than 1 week

We get 4 weeks. Interesting comment above on impacting bonus. I’ll have to ask before I take my leave in the future.

Goldman gives 4 weeks

4 weeks

16 weeks (same as maternity and adoption), but it’s rare for men to use more than 2 weeks

And that’s paid leave. We can get another 10 weeks of unpaid leave for a total of 26 weeks

Moelis 😝

Barcap is more like 12 weeks - changed about 1 year ago.

As a woman here, i have a tag-along question: if taking more time wouldnt affect your bonus/pay/promote-ability.. would you take the full time given by your firm? And do you think that taking a 2+ month maternity leave actually does affect women?

It’s gonna be the Euro banks

Recommendation for a tax person to help with complicated taxes - husband and I lived in NJ for part of 2021, he worked remotely for an nyc and then Long Island co., I worked in NJ and for a MA firm. We also both took parental leave and taxes weren’t taken out of some of that pay. Also, need child credit for said child who the IRS doesn’t know about yet.

I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. An agency recruiter is trying to convince me to move into a GSVP account role, assuring me "at that level it's all strategy." (I dont think she understands the words she's using. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account. Anyone here moved from strategy to account?
