Anyone here from Barclays finance/investment banking domains. Since most of the roles and packages discussed here are for technology/IT related. If anyone from finance background could share, whats the package Barclays offers for BA4 level in finance for anyone with 6-7 years of experience? Barclays, Barclays global service center
Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks

I assume you’re asking because you want to build your career around the highest paying job. But if you have to ask, you don’t know the field very well and should focus on learning about everything first and find something you enjoy/are good at.
If it’s still just about money then, you’ll know enough about it to answer the question yourself.
Lmfao stfu. The answer is tech. This guy is a BUM
Tech. The more data they have, the more use for data scientists.
Yes, I concur: The more data, the higher the salary.
Tech, fintech, gaming, streaming.
Don’t be surprised legacy players are also figuring out how to mobilize their rich 1st party datasets: media, CPG, insurance, healthcare. Some of these folks will pay top-dollar too, base salary almost comparable to tech, but tech usually wins because of the RSUs.
Game studios are not highly paid. It's a sweatshop. Unless you mean "gaming" divisions at places like Microsoft. Maybe Twitch? But honestly "gaming" never seemed like a lucrative or prestigious industry to be in to me - as a big gamer and fan. Like I said I'd probably only want to work in the Xbox division at a place like Microsoft or YouTube myself or maybe Twitch but Twitch seems like it's run by a bunch of idiots.

You only get fired if you lose money, you only really lose money if your algorithm messes up, your algorithm only messes up if you messed up. It’s a very weird niche space where companies generally only hire out of undergrad.
Finance/Fintech - hedge funds and high frequency traders will pay out for top talent. It’s extremely selective, high-pressure/high-stakes, and will usually work people past exhaustion though. People don’t tend to stay long if they get in.
I got a buddy in finance who has worked 70 hour weeks for a decade. He ain’t even rich. Investment banking / hedge fund etc is a brutal business. If he screws something up, one of a hundred things he does in a day, it could cost millions of dollars. Extremely high pressure. Very fast paced
I really enjoy capital one. Great WLB and great pay.
Can I dm you?
I would say don’t sleep on government consulting, specifically in the intelligence field… You can ask for 200-250 easily, and do really interesting work
Damn maybe I need to take my DS skills and clearance to Microsoft then
Dunno about industry or niche, but we pay pretty well after a few years in the company
Starts at 145-175k TC depending on whether you have an MS or BS, goes up to 300k+ after 4 years, 400-550k 4 years after that, then 7 figures if you join the partnership. WLB ranges from a little rough to terrible. You’re lucky to work 50-55 hours. More typical is 60 hours. If you’re unlucky can go 70+ if it’s a particularly bad case or a really crazy week with launches
