I’ve been in community corrections for almost two years. I love what I do in case management, for inmates working on reentry but I would like to explore other job roles and start making a better income. I’m really interested in tech and project management roles. I just do not know where to start far as getting my foot in the door with either industry. I have a BA criminology, I adjust to quick changes, I thrive in fast paced environments and I learn quick. I have a great work ethic.

Are you going to year end Christmas party?

How can anyone act like they’re happy working Saturday’s during busy season? My buds are snowboarding, my girlfriend is complaining that I work too much and I’m missing the playoffs. Times like these make me question why I stay.

Feel like audit scheduling is always done on a knifes edge in that the timeline and staff schedules are enough so that if everyone works 60 hour weeks and no issues are identified then it can be filed on time. But even small things that increase the work can wildly throw off the schedule and cause hours to skyrocket for the staff on the job. No real point here, just ranting.

How do you report your CPE credits to the state board? I know firms usually have a tracking system, will they automatically be sent to the state boards or something? And what do I need to do if I leave the firm?

Anyone have their CFE? Just wondering what you have done or plan to do with it and what the test was like.

Is working at a local 1-2 office firm where you do tax, audit, and bookkeeping more interesting than just sticking to audit or tax?
